Dealer Marketing Magazine is currently featuring an article titled, “To Drive Online Lead Volume, Dealers Continue To Rely On Third-Party, Classified Ad Sites”. The article discusses the importance and effectiveness of online marketing for today’s dealers.  The article suggests that customers are spending more time on the internet shopping for cars and less time shopping the lot:

“Most dealers across the country report floor traffic that has almost tanked completely in the middle of the week and that weekend traffic that is down 50 to 75 percent in some markets. Yet some dealers say they have ‘too much lead traffic.’”

So where are car shoppers looking for cars?

Daily Fuel Economy Tip posted an article stating only two states in the U.S. have average gas prices under $3.00 a gallon! “The two remaining states below $3 per gallon are New Hampshire ($2.99) and New Jersey ($2.93). The two latest states to hit or pass the $3 barrier are Massachusetts and South Carolina. California still has the highest average gas price in the country at $3.45 per gallon.”
